Dimapur, April 9 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has convened a joint consultative meeting of civil society organisations (CSOs) to deliberate on the ongoing construction of the proposed “world class” Dimapur Railway Station.
According to a notification issued by the NCD, the meeting will be held on April 15 at 11:30 am at the NCD Office Conference Hall.
The council has invited a wide range of Dimapur-based CSOs to participate in the consultation process, aimed at incorporating public opinion into the project.
Those invited include the councillors and office bearers of the Naga Council Dimapur, Dimapur Urban Colony Chairmen Federation, Dimapur Naga Students’ Union, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur, GB Union Dimapur Sadar, Dimapur District GB Association, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries, and Dimapur Business Association of Nagas.
Representatives from Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum, East Dimapur Area Village Council Chairmen Forum, East Dimapur Tribal Council, East Dimapur Youth Organisation, as well as community bodies such as the Muslim Council Dimapur, Bengali Samaj Dimapur, Marwari Samaj Dimapur, Jain Samaj Dimapur and Bihari Samaj Dimapur have also been invited.
The NCD stated that the meeting would serve as a platform for stakeholders to express their views, which would be recorded as the voice of the public.
All concerned organisations have been requested to attend the meeting and contribute constructively to the discussions on the major infrastructure project.
