
Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): The Naga Hoho has appealed for peace between the Angami and Sumi individuals who confronted each other in Dimapur, September 1. The press release from the Naga Hoho received here today appealed to the Chakro Public Organization and the Western Sumi Hoho to be “a contributing factor” towards normalizing the situation.
The Naga Hoho had an emergency meeting today “to take stock of the situation at Dimapur” and “shared the problems” with the Chakro Public Organization and the Western Sumi Hoho and Chakro Public Organization.
“In this regard, the Naga Hoho expresses our deepest anguish over the incidents occurring in our society amongst brothers. The incident which occurred on 31st August and the subsequent fallout in Dimapur on the 1st of September is one of the darkest moments” in the “anal of Naga history,” the ‘hoho explained in its words. “It has deeply pained each and every sensible Naga soul, the dream and the desire to live as one people and one nation must not be shattered overnight over an unfortunate incident that would have resolved through mutual discussion.”
The Naga Hoho earnestly appeals to all sections of the Naga society particularly the Angami and the Sumi “not to carry away with rumours and emotions” but to engage peaceful means “with greater responsibilities and vision.”
The hoho has also appealed to the district administration, Chakro Public Organization and Western Sumi Hoho “to be a contributing factor towards restoring normalcy in the interest of common people.”
