ZHAVAME, MAY 5 (MExN): Headmaster of Government High School, Nerhema, T. Deo Dukru, who met with a tragic accident at Jakhalabandha, Assam on May 2, was laid to rest in his native village, Zhavame on May 4.
The headmaster was travelling by Network Travels to Guwahati with a relative when an unidentified speeding car hit him while he was trying to cross a road during a halt at Jakhalabandha for dinner. He suffered a broken leg, apart from other injuries and breathed his last at Nagaon around 11:45 pm on May 2 while he was being taken to Guwahati.
His body was brought home to Nagaland on Saturday evening after a post mortem was conducted. Send-off services were held in Dimapur and Kohima respectively on Saturday late eveni ng, while reception for his body was held at different places in Pfütsero, Tsüfüme Village, Razeba and Zhavame, where his funeral was held.
