Dimapur, May 21 (MExN): A Naga girl said to be working as a nurse in a hospital in Delhi was found murdered inside a park near Civil Lines, (near Delhi University), on May 14. The deceased was said to be five months pregnant. Highly reliable sources from Delhi identified the murdered Naga nurse as one Langailiu Pamei, 26 years, hailing from Khumji village under Tangmelong district of Manipur.
Sources informed that the victim was found with her throat slit. The question of rape has yet to be broached. Initial reports suggested that there were no signs of any resistance on the part of the victim. The post mortem was conducted at the Hindu Rao Hospital, Delhi. The body was kept at the morgue for about a week before the Delhi police finally cremated it.
The victim was employed as a nurse in NU Life Hospital Outram, Delhi. Her boyfriend, said to be an Assamese, has been detained by police and interrogation is on, the source informed. The five month old fetus inside the deceased is in the hospital and is further awaiting DNA tests, the source informed.
