Bengaluru, March 23 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB), in collaboration with the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union, Bengaluru (ENSUB), organised a blood donation drive in association with Bangalore Baptist Hospital on March 21.

The drive witnessed participation from people across different backgrounds, all coming forward with the shared objective of helping save lives. Organisers said it was encouraging to see not only members of the Naga community but also others contributing to the cause.

The organisers acknowledged the longstanding support extended by Bangalore Baptist Hospital to the Naga community, including patients who travel from outside Bengaluru for treatment and have received care, support, and concessions. The initiative, they said, was a gesture of gratitude and an effort to give back.

Describing the event as more than just a donation drive, the organisers said it reflected the spirit of unity and compassion. Despite initial apprehensions, several individuals chose to donate blood, making the effort particularly meaningful.

NSUB president Nungsangmongla Ozukum expressed gratitude to all donors and volunteers, stating that the initiative highlighted the strength of community and compassion. She noted that a single unit of blood donated could help save lives.

ENSUB president Loungtok Konyak said the drive marked an important step in building a strong relationship with Bangalore Baptist Hospital and expressed hope that such collaboration would improve access to quality healthcare for the Naga community in Bengaluru.

NSUB and ENSUB extended their appreciation to Bangalore Baptist Hospital, donors, and volunteers for their contributions to the initiative.
