The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) is all set to celebrate its 75th anniversary under the theme ‘Call to oneness’ on October 29 at 10:00 am, at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima.
The programme will be graced by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio as special guest and former minister of Arunachal Pradesh, James L Wanglat as guest of honour.
Informing this during a press conference this afternoon at its office, K Temjen Jamir, former NSF president and convenor of the Planning Committee said, this will not only be a celebration but 'a socio-political revival' for the Nagas.
He said the theme has been chosen sensing the urgent need for 'oneness' among the Nagas for self-introspection, and show solidarity and patriotism to bring the Nagas together.
Recalling the formation of NSF in 1947 during a difficult period of time in Naga Hills, Jamir maintained that it is apt to celebrate and recall the contributions of the pioneers.
This celebration, he said is a celebration of all Naga people irrespective of geographical demarcations and political affiliations.
NSF president, Kegwayhun Tep informed that about 2000 delegates from its federating units are expected to participate in the celebration. Besides, federating units under North East Students Organization (NESO) will be in attendance, he informed.
Tep extended invitation to all the students, youths and Nagas to the programme to celebrate the legacy of the pioneers.
