Naga Students’ Union Bangalore celebrates 50th freshers’ meet

Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) celebrated its 50th Freshers’ Meet on September 21 at the United Theological College (UTC), Bangalore with Rozelle Mero, Founder and Managing Director of The People Channel, Nagaland as the chief guest. 


NSUB in a press release stated that the event was sponsored by Indian School of Hospitality(ISH) and Co-Sponsored by The People Channel, Somilan Steak House, Brand Neurons and Tangkhul Naga Welfare Bengaluru.
The chief guest in her speech urged the Naga Bangaloreans especially the freshers not to forget the purpose of what they are here for and to make sure to fulfil the purpose of what one set here for. She spoke about how life gives you thousands of experiences everyday but learning does not stop.  “No experience is a bad experience so we need to learn to look at things positively.” She encouraged the gatherings to have ambition and have aspiration to do much better than what you are and where you are at. “Don’t get an education because you want it, but get it because you want to learn something,” she stated. 


Earlier, the programme started with the NSUB anthem which was led by UTC Naga Students followed by invocation from Mezhusevi Zutso, Pastor of Pneuma Revival Church Bangalore. Naga students studying at Berean Baptist Bible College welcomed the gathering with song. NSUB President, Nuthipru Nienu delivered the welcome speech while Edmund R delivered speech on behalf of freshers. Special prayer for the freshers was led by Rev. Zhabu Yimsung, Pastor of Naga Christian Fellowship Bangalore.


The second session began with a special number from Chan Callie. This session also had traditional attire showcase which was choreographed by Imlimanen Jamir, an award winning designer. Bangalore Conservatory Guitar Ensemble enthralled the crowd with a musical piece composed by Mozart. The event also witnessed folk fusion artist Dzüphro Terri who lighted the stage.


Edmund R. and Bvüne Bliss were crowned Mr. & Ms Freshers’ 2019. NSUB Cultural Secretary, Tabitha Nekhini gave the vote of thanks. The programme ended with a prayer by Nokcha Imchen.
