Hundreds of Thousand of tears shed, tens of thousands prayer prayed, thousands of speeches spoken, hundreds of reconciliation meetings held, hundred of articles published, tens of peace force members appointed for the Naga reconciliation and unity. Thank God, unity is no more a distant vision, invisible, unheard and unconceivable today. If reconciliation and unity are not dichotomy, if reconciliation is a reciprocal movement; if unity is the outward expression of inner oneness, if loving, sharing and living together is the visible sign of unity and if Christian word of ‘reconciliation and unity’ is truly a Biblical meaning of forgive and forget that makes two warring entity realize one’s own wrong deeds, repent and starts living together in one accord in concept, spirit and action for common mission, than the present unification initiated by Western Sümi Hoho is an exemplary movement. Reciprocally the song and saying that says, everything that glitters are not gold is identically true with all the cherished valuables may not glitter. So expecting every possibility in a moment or in an infant stage of unity from those who are initiating noble Job on our behalf may not be encouraging for them as well as unwise on our part as a responsible Naga.
Truly, as a Naga and above all a Christian at such time like this we all should earnestly seek God’s discerning spirit to rationally analyze and rectify our comments, intentions, and misconceptions to strengthen our Naga vision of unity. Yes, Unity is the outcome of an intensive reason. It is the filtration and refinement of cause and consequences of the past and vision of common aspiration for tomorrow. Therefore, at this juncture of new beginning of Naga political development in secular term and God’s miracle in spiritual term, acknowledging labors and wisdoms of committed leaders is the need of an hour. Because Naga issue is for every Naga tribes and the service rendered for her cause untimely becomes our common property either in small or big ways. Why have we made ourselves to pause on the issue hindering our logic conscience and prayer? Let every Nagas regardless of Church and societies; tribe, clan, profession, qualification, contribute the best for the just initiated unity movement for common aspiration. Let emotional sense of life be there within us in personal life but when comes to decision, most importantly result of the reason is to be valued by one and all who really believes success and victory in unity. I deem unity is one act of God’s intervention in human’s sufferings. Lets be positive, rational, and pragmatic responsible Naga citizen as were our forefathers.
