A total of 196 recruits passed out from the Assam Rifles Centre & School at Shokhuvi on January 28.

Shokhuvi, January 28 (MRxN): A total of 196 recruits, both boys and girls, marched in rhythm and synchronisation while passing out from the Assam Rifles Centre & School at Shokhuvi, Nagaland on January 28. The event marked the completion of 44 weeks of training, stated a press release issued by the PRO (Defence), Kohima & Imphal.
The attestation parade was reviewed by Brigadier S K Sheoran, YSM, SM, Deputy Inspector General, Assam Rifles Training Centre & School. Addressing the recruits, the Reviewing Officer highlighted the rich history of the Assam Rifles as the oldest paramilitary force of the country and its diversified role in North East, across the country and overseas. He congratulated the recruits and their parents on successful completion of training and wished them success and happiness in all their future endeavours.
“The Rifleman and Riflewomen will now join their respective Units and continue to serve the Country thereby making it a moment of glory not only for the Assam Rifles but also the entire nation,” the PRO added.
