Nagaland: 131 new COVID-19 cases

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 (MExN): The number of COVID-19 cases in Nagaland continued to increase with 131 new cases detected in the State on September 13. 

Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Pangnyu Phom informed via Twitter that the 131 new cases were detected out of 459 samples tested. Out of the new cases, 70 are in Kohima, 60 in Dimapur and 1 in Mon. Of the cases detected today, 77 are from the armed forces and security personnel; 7 are returnees/travelers; 45 are traced contacts; and 2 are frontline workers.

Meanwhile, Nagaland also reported 14 recoveries of COVID-19 patients. The latest recoveries include 9 in Kiphire, 4 in Dimapur and 1 in Mon. 

The total number of positive cases as of September 14 in Nagaland stands at 5214, out of which 1289 are active cases.

Of these, 1279 cases are asymptomatic, 8 have mild symptoms, and 2 have moderate symptoms. Meanwhile a total of 3897 people have recovered and the death toll remains at 8. 

The latest data from Health and Family Welfare Department shows that till date, 2463 (47%) of the total cases are from the armed forces and security personnel, 1411 (27%) are returnees/travelers, 1021 (20%) are traced contacts and 319 (6%) are frontline workers. 

Dimapur continues to have the most number of active cases with 773, followed by Kohima with 453 active cases. Mon has 23 active cases, Mokokchung has 16, Zunheboto has 4, Tuensang has 3, Kiphire has 2 while Phek and Wokha have 1 active case each. Longleng as of September 14 is COVID-19 free. 

 Meanwhile, a total of 44193 RT PCR tests, 25310 TrueNat tests and 1119 Rapid Antigen tests have been conducted in the State till date. In total 70,622 tests have been conducted so far.
