Nagaland: 50 new COVID-19 cases detected

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13 (MExN): Fifty new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Nagaland on August 13 pushing the State’s tally to 3168. Of the new cases, 40 were in Kohima, 5 in Zunheboto, 4 in Mon and 1 in Dimapur. 

Meanwhile, with 1139 recoveries so far, the number of active cases stood at 2015. The official death toll as on August 13 was 7, with one death tagged as being 'COVID-19 positive but not due to COVID-19.'

The new cases detected on August 13 include 20 from the armed forces, 2 returnees and 28 traced contacts. According to the Health Department’s data, 45.7% of the total cases in the State are from the armed forces; 35.3% are returnees/travelers; 11% are traced contacts; 6.4% are frontline workers and 1.7% are others (which include cases related to the NLA, Raj Bhavan, patients excluding returnees).

The Health Department meanwhile stated that when a COVID-19 case is detected in a hospital, contact tracing, quarantine, testing and disinfection are done; and the hospital will continue to function. “Because of fear of COVID-19 do not neglect your other health conditions,” it appealed.
