The Airports Authority of India (AAI) Sports Control Board announced the Sports Contract Scheme for the year 2021-22.
As per the contract which is available in the official AAI website, the objective of this scheme is to engage on contract outstanding young sportspersons in AAI with a view to giving permanent employment to them subsequently based on their performances and vacancies available.
Age Group
The contract will be available to the sports persons in the age group of over 14 years and under 24 years as on 31.03.2021.
The contract specified that no other games will be entertained.
Amount of sports contract
According to the contract, the awardees will also be granted consolidated amount payable under the AAI Sports Contract Scheme.
Sportsperson who have represented in Sub- Junior/Junior/Youth Nationals will be eligible for Rs 18,000 per month. Sportsperson who have represented in Sub- Junior/Junior/Youth Internationals will get Rs 22,000 per month, while sportspersons who have represented in Senior Nationals and Senior Internationals will be allotted Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000 per month respectively.
Besides this, the contracted sportsperson will also be entitled for a medical allowance of Rs 1000 per month according to the contract.
The contract also cited provisions for facilities to contract players for participation in individual capacity in national/international ranking tournaments within the country and international tournaments outside the country.
Duration of contract
The contract will be applicable initially for one year and extendable based on the individual’s performance/improvement in his/her event subject to approval. The recipient of the contract will cease to get the contract once he/she attains the age of 25 years, it added.
The awarding of contract is also subject to certain conditions, which are listed in the scheme details available on the official AAI website https://www.aai.aero/en.
Selection
All applications received within the stipulated time shall be considered by a committee duly constituted by the President, Airports Authority of India Sports Control Board.
The duly completed and signed application should be sent in prescribed format along with requisite enclosures to the address provided in the contract “so as to reach latest by 26th October 2020.”
