At the farewell programme of S. Yongchang Phom on May 1.
Kohima, May 1 (MExN): The Directorate of Agriculture accorded befitting farewell S Yongchang Phom on his retirement as Director of Agriculture on May 1.
In his farewell address, Yongchang expressed gratitude to all officers and staff for their unwavering support throughout his career.
Yongchang reflected on the unity and sense of camaraderie he witnessed within the department, and encouraged everyone to continue working together with innovative approaches for the benefit of farmers and the promotion of sustainable agriculture.
The service profile of Yongchang Phom was read out by Medovilie Ladu, Additional Director of Agriculture, highlighting his decades-long dedication, leadership, and numerous contributions to the department.
The programme featured speeches from Limanenla, NCS, Joint Secretary, Agriculture and Bodevi Shuya, District Agriculture Officer, Chümoukedima, both of whom praised the outgoing Director for his exemplary service, humility, and unwavering commitment to the agricultural community.
New director Sanuzo Nienu chaired the programme.
