Nagaland Assembly adjourned sine die

Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker Sharingain Longkumer adjourned the eight session of 13th NLA sine die after completing all the list of business for the three-day long session on August 5.

The House discussed at length on Nagaland-Assam border issue as matters of urgent public importance and adopted a three-point resolution. The discussion was initiated by MLA Imkong L Imchen.

Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Neiba Kronu initiated the discussion on Post COVID-19 economic recovery.

Two government bills on Nagaland Professions, Trades, Callings and Employment Taxation (Fifth Amendment) Bill 2020 and Nagaland Lokayukta (Amendment No.2) Bill, 2021, moved by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on August 3, were also passed on Thursday.

Minister for Health and Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom made a statement on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton laid a copy of the Report of the Commission on RIIN in fulfillment of the assurance given on the floor of the House on August 3 in reply to Supplementary Starred Question No. 3 asked by MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu regarding status of RIIN.

K Tokugha Sukhalu, Advisor School Education and Chairman, Public Accounts Committee, Dr Chotisuh Sazo, Chairman Committee on Subordinate Legislation and Y Vikheho Swu, Chairman, Committee on Government Assurances presented the respective assembly committee reports.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio presented the report of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India on General, Economic and Revenue Sectors for the year ended 31st March 2019.

Later, the NLA speaker announced the revised composition of the various financial and non financial committees for 2021-2022.
