Two government bills, which were introduced on March 4, have been passed on the floor of the House on Thursday. The Nagaland Town and Country Planning (Fourth Amendment) Bill, 2025 have been passed today after it was moved for consideration and passing by Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
The Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (Validation) Bill, 2025 have also been passed after it was moved for consideration and passing by Deputy Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang.
Later, three more government Bills- “The Rules for Administration of Justice and Police in Nagaland (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2025,” The Rules for Administration of Justice and Police in Nagaland (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2025” and The Nagaland Goods and Services Tax (Tenth Amendment) Bill, 2024 were introduced today by Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer said that the consideration and passing of such Bills will be taken up on March 7.
Earlier, Dr Rio, who is also, Minister-in-Charge of Finance, presented the Regularization of Excess Expenditure for the Year 2017-2018 (As recommended by the PAC in its 132nd report 2023-24).
He also presented a copy of the Review of the Trends in Receipts and Expenditure for the First, Second and Third quarter of the year 2024-25, as required under Section 11 of the Nagaland Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2005 and Supplementary Demand for Grants for the year 2024 –2025.
After Budget Speech for the year 2025-2026, Dr Rio presented the “Annual Financial Statement (Budget) for the year 2025-2026” and the Statement Under the Nagaland Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2005;- Macro Economic Framework Statement, Medium Term Fiscal Policy Statement and Fiscal Policy Strategy Statement.
