The Nagaland Pencak Silat team won a total of eight medals at the 13th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship held at KD Singh Babu Indoor Stadium from May 9 to 12.

LUCKNOW, May 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Pencak Silat team won a total of eight medals — three gold, two silver and three bronze — at the 13th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship held at KD Singh Babu Indoor Stadium from May 9 to 12.
In the Sparring category, gold medals were secured by Hinokali, Nyia Thono and Kitenlo K Thono. Chethyio Kajesho won silver in the Sparring event, while Hinokali added another silver in the individual Artistic event.
Nagaland also won bronze in the women’s Artistic Regu event through the trio of Hatneinem Khongsai, Avikali V Shequi and Hinokali — the latter finishing the championship with three medals.
The 12-member team was led by head coach Deep Kumar and national referee Kuhoshe Sumi. The Nagaland Pencak Silat Association congratulated the athletes for their performance, calling it a testament to the state’s growing presence in the sport.
