The Nagaland state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today adopted a 3 point resolution in support of the Naga Peace process and the subsequent formation of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Resolving this in its state office bearers meeting with State Morcha Presidents and General Secretaries at State BJP Head Office Kohima, it also affirmed to support and endorse the ‘positive direction and pace’ with which the Naga peace process is taking place under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

The meeting, chaired by BJP state President Temjen Imna Along, also affirmed the resolution for ‘Naga Political Settlement’ adopted on August 27, 2020, which was reaffirmed in the State Executive Meeting held in Dimapur on April 17, 2021.

It also pledged to extend its unconditional support to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton for their “far sighted visions for the greater cause of the Nagas,” which ultimately resulted in the formation of the opposition less UDA government.

The state BJP unit expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister of Assam and Convenor, NEDA, Himanta Biswas for his “magnanimity and positive role” in the Naga peace talk.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland BJP welcomed the new Interlocutor for the Naga peace talks, AK Mishra and the new Governor of Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi.

“The party is confident that with their wisdom and political acumen, the pertinent Naga political issue is brought to a peaceful settlement,” it stated.
