Dimapur, March 7 (MExN): Nagaland BJP delegation on March 7 met S.S. Ahluwalia, national BJP vice president and election in-charge for North East in New Delhi. According to a press release issued by Media Cell, BJP Nagaland, the delegation was warmly received and a fruitful deliberation was held on party organisational matters as well as on the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
The national vice president was briefed on the decision that led to the appointment of a consensus DAN parliamentary candidate for Nagaland. Ahluwalia expressed his pleasure on the candidature of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, the release said. “Interacting with the state party delegation in ‘Nagamese’ which he got familiar in his long stint of various responsibilities in the North East in the eighties,” he said, “what is important for the Nagas today is to bring about total solution for lasting peace which is the only path to all round development and generating employment opportunities.”
The party delegation conveyed to him the necessity of having a Christian tribal leader from the North East region in the NDA government for the larger interest of the people in the region, the note stated.
