Jalukie, April 27 (MExN): In commemoration of India's 75 years of Independence, the District Health Society, Peren organised Ayushman Bharat block health mela in Jalukie CHC on April 26.

It was held with an objective to increase health awareness of the community for prevention of various communicable and non-communicable diseases; Motivate beneficiaries through innovative mass media and mid-media activities to make positive health behaviour changes. Provide screening for early diagnosis, basic health care services including referrals, specialised services and diagnostic services; Make community aware about different health and family welfare programmes and various systems of medicine being undertaken by the Government which could lead them to avail such services, 

The CMO office Peren in a press release stated that health services like screening for diabetes, hypertension, yoga and meditation, oral cancer, free diagnostics, ABHA (Health ID) and medicines were provided free of cost to all the patients. The camp administered to 169 patients. Various ailments including common cough and cold, and other diseases prevalent in the area were treated. 23 lab testing, 9 HIV testing and 9 counseling, Hab+VDRL, 9 ANC,  20 COVID vaccination, 11 beneficiaries Health ID was generated, 70 Eye cases was screened and 33 dental procedures carried out.

The communities were also taught on household hygiene and other communicable diseases. FGD and one to one sessions were carried out on Child Health, Maternal Health, Family Planning. IEC Pamphlets and leaflets were distributed free.

In a short inaugural function Shri. Vejoyi Swuro, SDO, Peren in his short speech urged the public to avail the medical facilities which were brought to their door steps. He also appreciated and expressed his gratitude to the department for organizing the health mela. 

Rev Dr Mongzeung Mpom, Pastor JTLBC invoked God's blessing. The team of medical personnel was led by Dr Keholi, DPO (RCH &UIP),  Dr Imtiakum Aier, SMO, Dr Hedungkiebe, DVBO, Dr Khriezovon Solo, Dr Ruokuovinuo Rachel, Dr Dr Michael, Dr. Gloria, Dr Dwalie, Dr Ramheigum, Ophthalmic Assistant and supporting staffs and Lab Tech from NVBDCP, RNTCP, DAPCU, ICTC.
