Nagaland Bye Elections: Record voting expected, 81.66% till 3 pm

A record turnout is expected for the bye elections to two assembly seats in Nagaland on November 3 with an estimated 81.66% of the electorate casting their votes by 3 PM. 

The bye elections are being held in 14 Southern Angami-I and 60 Pungro- Kiphire Assembly Constituencies.

As per the official estimate after Round 4 at 3 PM, voting was as high as 87.82% in 60 Pungro- Kiphire AC  while it was 68.28% in 14 Southern Angami-1 AC. 

Altogether, 13, 588 and 29,500 electorates will exercise their franchise in the 14 Southern Angami-I and 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituencies respectively.

Earlier on November 2, Nagaland’s Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Sinha informed that all arrangements are in place for free, fair and peaceful bye elections on Tuesday.
