Kohima, November 9 (MExN): The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland, V Shashank Shekhar along with other Officer of CEO’s Office will be visiting and holding meetings with various stakeholders and electoral officials in Kohima and Dimapur on November 10 and 11 respectively.
The meetings will review progress of activities in connection with the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls w.r.t. 01.01.2022 as the qualifying date, a press release from the CEO’s Office informed.
Apart from the Deputy Commissioner & District Electoral Officer and Administrative Officers, the team will meet, Political Parties, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and others, it said.
In addition to the Special Summary Revision activities, any other issues relating to improvement in the electoral roll in general will also be discussed, it added.
Along with the administrative Officers, the team will review the working of the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), a flagship programme of the Election Commission of India launched in 2009.
The objective of the programme is to educate the voter in electoral process and create awareness on ethical, informed and inclusive election as well as endeavouring to provide continuous electoral democracy education to the citizen in partnership with various agencies and stakeholders, it added.
