Kohima, June 1 (MExN): Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Temjen Toy today reiterated his commitment of financial support towards the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) – Ambassador for Girl Child, according to a press release from Media Cell, State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW).
In his address at the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao- State Task Force meeting held under his chairmanship at the Chief Secretary’s conference hall here, Toy further appreciated the commitment of the SRCW staffs in rendering commendable service and assured support and availability towards the activities of BBBP in Nagaland.
OT Chingmak gave a brief introduction to the BBBP scheme and R Juliana Medom, Assistant State Coordinator, SRCW gave a PowerPoint presentation on District and State level activities of BBBP.
Dr Sao Tunyi, Epidemiologist, Health & Family Welfare department also presented on the Joint Survey conducted in Longleng from November 21-23, 2016 by the Medical, Social Welfare, and Economics & Statistics departments on the issue of low Child Sex Ratio (CSR) in the district of Longleng, the release informed.
The State and the District Action Plan was also approved at the meeting.
Bano Vinito, chairperson, Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB) presented the BBBP – Ambassador for Girl Child badges to the Chief Secretary, who is the brand ambassador, and also Commissioner & Secretary, Social Welfare department.
