Combined Annual Training Camp for NCC Cadets from the state of Nagaland commenced at Wokha under the aegis of NCC Group Kohima.

Wokha, January 10 (MExN): The Combined Annual Training Camp for NCC Cadets from the state of Nagaland commenced at Wokha under the aegis of NCC Group Kohima. The 10 day camp will be held from January 9 to 18 at the Assam Rifles Camp, Wokha.
PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh in a press release stated that during the camp, cadets will undergo rigorous training including Physical Training, Marching, Field Craft, Weapon Training, Firing and other service subjects. A total of 400 NCC cadets (both Boys & Girls) alongwith with respective Associate NCC Officers and Instructor Staff are participating in this camp. Commanding Officer, 1 Naga Gils NCC Batallion is the Camp Commandant.
During the inaugural day, the camp commandant addressed the cadets briefing them on the various facets of leadership, character development, soldier’s life and life skills that will be imparted during the camp. Various state departments have also been incorporated to impart training and conducting lectures for the cadets on relevant and contemporary subjects like Disaster Relief, Higher Education, Start Ups, Employment Generation Schemes, Fire Fighting etc. The cadets will also get a unique opportunity for getting hands on exposure to various games like Kite Flying, Tug of war etc.
For most students, this NCC camp is their first exposure to community living and training in a quasi military setting. It is an excellent opportunity for them to grasp the essentials of NCC Training and live a life with ‘Unity and Discipline’, which is the motto of NCC.
