Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) organized a condolence prayer meeting at Dimapur DCC office on Wednesday to pay last respects to former union minister and veteran Congress leader Oscar Fernandes who passed away on September 13 at Mangalore.
NPCC Communication Department in a press release stated that the brief function was attended by PCC and Dimapur DCC officials, PCC President.
The President of NPCC K Therie recalled the life and times of Oscar Fernandes and his immense contribution to the Congress party as well as to the cause of Nagas, “Particularly when he headed Group of Ministers on Naga political issue. The late leader had also widely travelled across Nagaland for party works and he perfectly understood the aspirations and sentiments of the people.”
Other officials who paid tributes included W Akum Yim, Vice President NPCC, Tsenthungo Nyamo, President Dimapur DCC and Rajesh Sethi, Chairman NPCC Minority Department. The meeting closed with a prayer for the departed soul and his family, well wishers and supporters.
