Highland Dawn Media (HDM) launched its new digitized local TV channel called Nagaland Cornerstone TV for the people of Nagaland. The channel will initially be telecast via the Kohima Cable Network and subsequently to the other towns. The TV channel was launched alongside with the HDM’s new audio studio by Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, general secretary, NBCC.

Wabang Moa, Director HDM highlighted the features and objectives of the newly launched Channel which aims to provide a positive belief and outlook to encourage people. Keeping in view that Nagaland does not have a local cable TV Channel, the need for a local TV Channel has become more prominent, therefore with support from the Kohima Cable Network KCN, Highland dawn Media has launched "Nagaland Cornerstone TV", a new digitised local cable TV channel for people of Nagaland.

Due to the mandatory digitization of cable TV suppliers from the Central Government, Kohima Cable Network has at long last united as one entity, and we are poised to avail of this opportunity, stated Moa. NCTV channel will be connected through KCN to whole of Kohima, and later on live to Mokokchung, Dimapur and other towns of Nagaland.

Moa also shared the visions and hopes of the channel which is to encourage, inspire, and move others in Nagaland, and beyond. It will further target social reforms through awareness and specific ‘believe’ messages for Nagaland and beyond.

“Many times one expects only the worst from the present situations and even from those around us. Our Naga mentality, recklessness, vast egos, combined with narrow or small outlooks, corruption, immaturity, etc. tends to get one down. Many around us are hungry for words of encouragement, word of belief, to uplift and help them and others grow beyond limited or self imposed boundaries, to fulfill one’s potential. There is a lot of work to be done among the Nagas," Added Moa.

The NCTV board members are Khotuo Yaotsu of Koinonia Church, Rev Luoliehu Yimsung of Australia, Vesato Theluo, Temjen Pongener and Neikule Doulo.

Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, NBCC dedicating the channel stated that the positive outlook that HDM is aiming to produce is a much needed value in today’s world of hopelessness and desperation. Talking about the activities of NBCC which in the past was mostly focused on edification ministry to strengthen and encourage people’s faith, however with the new leadership that has set in, the Council has also entered into the ministry of encouragement alongside edification to its constituent members and people of faith. The council also focused towards encouraging people who are in the profession of bringing change to society, and further enabling them to be more professional in the things they do. “We are in an exciting era where things are changing. We, the church and the secular world, must encourage people for positive change,” asserted Keyho while also highlighting the importance of mass communication and image projection in the changing world. “Things we consider a luxury or style are now a necessity,” mentioned Keyho.

Criticism the attitude of ‘Free Mentality’ which is a pertaining issue in Naga society, Rev. Dr. Keyho said, “We want good things and the best services but we want it free. Good things come with a price and expectations. We want things for free. But free mentality is slowly killing us.” Further admitting that the Church in Nagaland too has had its past of ‘free mentality’, Keyho reminded that the Church is fighting against this corrupt mentality and is “sailing against the tide.” It was further asserted for the need to educate the people to do away with free mentality. “Positive thinking and positive action is perhaps the need of the hour,” concluded Keyho.
