Nagaland: COVID-19 recoveries surpass new cases, tally at 9,096

Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): Nagaland recorded 21 new COVID-19 cases on Monday taking the state’s tally to 9,096.

According to state Health and Family Welfare Minister (H&FW) S Pangnyu Phom who announced the news on Twitter, 12 of the new cases were from Kohima, eight from Dimapur and one from Mokokchung.

The state also recorded 152 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

“Also, 152 +ve patients have recovered. Dimapur- 140, Kohima- 10, Mon- 2,” the Minister tweeted.

This takes the total number of active cases in the state to 1,363 with 7,606 recoveries in total, as per data provided by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, H &FW.

Out of the active cases, 1,296 cases are said to be asymptomatic while 42 are mild, 12 moderate on oxygen, six severe on oxygen, six in critical ICU with oxygen and one active case is on ventilator.

As of 3:00 pm on Monday, Nagaland also reported three more fatalities, taking the total COVID-19 death toll to 36. Six other deaths are classified as ‘not COVID related’ and two deaths are under investigation by the state death review committee.

A total of 83 active cases have migrated from the state. 

Out of the total infections in the state, the Armed Forces/Security Personnel accounted for 49 percent of cases with 3,950, followed by Traced Contacts with 29 percent or 3,043, Returnees/Travelers with 1,658 cases or 21 percent and five percent or 445 cases among Frontline Workers, according to the IDSP.
