Nagaland COVID-19: UNLOCK-7 guidelines issued

Schools for all classes to reopen from November 1

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Government has decided to reopen more activities in the State in view of the COVID-19 positivity rate remaining under 5% for the last two weeks. 

An order issued by the Home Department notified on relaxation of lockdown guidelines under Unlock-7. This was issued after the High Powered Committee on COVID-19 held a meeting with the State Level War Room and the Health Department. 

As per the new unlock guidelines, night curfew has been relaxed by one more hour from 10:00pm to 4:00am. 

Social, academic, sports, entertainment, cultural, political and religious functions and other public gatherings will be permitted outside the containment zones beyond 50%  and upto 100% capacity, both indoors and outdoors. 

This is subject to all participants being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or having taken the first dose of the vaccine and at least 15 days since the dose. The events are also subject to adherence of COVID-19 appropriate behavior and observance of all relevant SOPs.   

The order also informed on the resumption of conduct of regular/offline classes for students for all classes in the State beginning November 1 if the COVID-19 situation remains under control and continues to further improve. This is subject to adherence to SOPs to be issued by the Home Department. 

It further said that District Task Forces may consider imposing stricter measures or rolling back certain relaxations in specified areas in the district if an exceptional situation arises and the DTF is satisfied that such measures are necessary under intimation of the Government.
