Nagaland dairying to get NDDB push

Vadodara, May 27 (Agencies): To give a fillip to dairying in Nagaland, the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Anand, will send a team of experts to help dairy members develop strategies and chart business plan so as to expand the dairy programmes covering a number of milk producers.

The decision was taken after delegation from Nagaland paid a visit to the NDDB office on Friday and held detailed discussion over different issues to give much-needed push to their dairy industry. Delegation members, who met senior officials of NDDB including chairperson Amrita Patel, comprised secretary (cooperation) Tovili Sema, registrar of cooperative societies Imtila Jamir and chief executive officer Dimapur District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Dr Aotoshi. This will be the first time that NDDB –being a public financial institution – will take initiative in this north-eastern region.

NDDB’s key gamut of activities include building cooperative institutions, improving dairy animal productivity, supporting milk cooperatives to enhance quality and safety management, expand the national information network and support the cooperatives in development of human resources.
