Aowapang from Dimapur tops ‘Mini-Battle’

Nagaland Dance Fiesta organised its 4th edition of Dance competition billed as “Nagaland Dance-Off” on January 22 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma with Theja Meru, advisor, Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) as the special guest.
The event showcased 2 categories of Dance Competition; Open Dance Competition (Solo/Group) and Mini-Battle (1 VS 1 Open Style Battle).
In the solo Dance-Off, Nishan from Dimapur was declared the winner while Arman Ahmed from Assam was the 1st runner up. Prakash Gurung from Dimapur and Funky-X from Manipur were the joint 2nd runners up.
Team-X from Manipur walked away with the Crew (group) title while Projection Crew from Dimapur came second.
In the open style ‘Mini-Battle,’ Aowapang from Dimapur emerged victorious after defeating Bboy Max from Manipur. (See box)
The event also featured special performances from Arshilu Ozukum, Black Tea and Fyre Flys.
Vikuonuo Sachu, former Miss Nagaland and Kevingunyü Mere were host of the show.
The judges of the competition include Shang Chiu (a dance instructor from Dimapur), Akehoto Yeptho from Kohima (Choreographer of Ethnic Future, The legacy Nagaland, Elemenz Crew) and Abi from Dimapur.
The event was supported by TaFMA, Government of Nagaland while Ademz Enny Media Production and The Cinematixx were the production partners.
Viewers’ choice winner was awarded with gift hampers sponsored by Inkprint Kohima.
