ISTANBUL, MAY 15 (MExN): A nine-member delegation from Nagaland led by G Ikuto Zhimomi, Advisor, Land Resources Department, participated in the Coffex Istanbul Expo 2025 held from May 9 to 11 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The delegation included Kevekha Kevin Zehol, former Commissioner and Secretary, Land Resources; Hekato N, Additional Director, Land Resources; and five coffee entrepreneurs representing Nagaland Coffee, Été Coffee, Juro Coffee, YES Coffee and Coffee Lady.

A press release informed that the visit was part of the Department of Land Resources’ initiative to promote Nagaland-grown coffee in international markets.

The Consulate General of India in Istanbul, Mijito Vinito Chishi, facilitated the participation by coordinating with the Coffee Board of India and the Government of Turkey.

During the three-day expo, the delegation engaged in cupping sessions, workshops, and one-on-one interactions with international stakeholders in the coffee value chain. They gained firsthand exposure to diverse processing methods and flavour profiles, insights into consumer preferences, and current pricing strategies. The event also opened avenues for collaboration with potential buyers and roasters, particularly from the Turkish market.

The delegation also noted Turkey's growing openness to new coffee origins and highlighted India’s position as the second-largest coffee exporter to Turkey—an encouraging sign for Nagaland’s coffee sector.

Coffex Istanbul is one of the leading international trade fairs for the coffee and related industries in the Middle East, bringing together coffee professionals and enthusiasts from around the world. The expo opened avenues for potential collaboration with international buyers and roasters, particularly from Turkey, the press release stated.
