Nagaland: DMI SJGS commemorates 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

Dimapur, September 29 (MExN): DMI St Joseph Global School (SJGS), Dimapur commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi virtually as per the direction of Central Board of Secondary Education on September 28.

The School stated in a press release that the activities included virtual class assembly by class I on the theme ‘Gandhian Philosophy’, poster-making a for Class II, practicing cleanliness at home for class III, all faith prayer for class V, drawing and art-making competitions  for class VI,  slogan writing for class VII, essay writing competition for class VIII on the topic ‘Mahatma Gandhi-the crusader against the Untouchability’, elocution on ‘Swadeshi Movement or Charkha & Khadi’ for class IX and essay writing for class X on the topic ‘Dignity of Labour’. 

All the activities centred on ‘Mahatma Gandhi and his teachings’. The students participated in the activities, especially in painting and drawing and art competitions on the topic ‘Mahatma Gandhi’s Charkha’. 

In order to instill the sense of cleanliness among the children, the School also conducted a virtual cleanliness drive at home under the supervision of their parents.

Zulotola, a teacher from the department of Social Science, coordinated the programme.
