
CHÜMOUKEDIMA, OCTOBER 19 (MExN): At the end of second day in the Ranji Trophy 2024-2025 match at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Nagaland was commanding a lead of 186 runs over Manipur. After a first-innings lead of 98 runs, Nagaland ended their second innings at 88/2 in 31 overs.
In their first innings, Nagaland posted a total of 237 runs, thanks to key contributions from Sedezhalie Rupreo (57 runs off 124 balls), Nischal Dega (49 off 75), and Hokaito Zhimomi (55 off 176). Chetan Bisht added valuable support with a score of 36, a press release issued by Nagaland Cricket Association stated.
Manipur’s bowlers had a standout performance, with Jotin Pheiroijam claiming 4 wickets, while Kabir and Ajay Singh took 3 and 2 wickets, respectively.
Struggling in their response, Manipur could only muster 139 runs in their first innings, with Jotin Pheiroijam top-scoring with 58 runs. Rex chipped in with 27, while P Prafullomani added 20. Nagaland’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Suchith, who took 5 wickets, supported by Captain Jonathan Rongsen (3 wickets) and Imliwati (2 wickets).
In their second innings, Nagaland moved to 88/2 in 31 overs, extending their overall lead to 186 runs. Nischal Dega remains unbeaten on 62, with Hem on 11.
