Nagaland DoSE to telecast video lessons; releases schedule

Kohima, April 30 (MExN): The Department of School Education, Nagaland would be commencing telecast of video lessons for selected classes through Kohima Doordarshan from May 1, an official notification informed.
Lessons on important subjects for students of class 8, 9 10 and 12 would be available in the broadcast.
The medium adopted to compensate for the loss or instructional days caused due to the ongoing lockdown to contain COVID-19 pandemic, informed the notification issued by Shanavas C, Principal Director, Directorate of School.
“The lessons will also be broadcasted through All India Radio (AIR) from May 2,” it said.
In this connection, all DEOs/SR SDEOs/SDEOs are to disseminate the information to all school heads under their jurisdictions with instructions to pass on the same to all parents and students of respective schools.
As ensuring maximum coverage for the DD satellite telecast and AIR broadcast across the State including the remote areas is “very much essential for achieving the objectives of the programme, the aforementioned officials were also directed with district administration to make necessary arrangements ensure students’ accessibility of broadcasts.
‘Make necessary arrangements to allow students who do not have facilities to access the DD satellite telecast at home to view or listen to the broadcast at a common place like Council Hall, School Auditorium etc,’ the notification added.
It further said that the broadcast schedule should be made in such a way that there will be lessons for only two classes on a particular day so that the children will not group up in large numbers in schools or village council halls, during a telecast.
As per the lessons schedule for Class IX and X (see Table) released by the Directorate for the first week of May, the telecast timing for Class IX students will be from 3 PM to 4:10 PM, with two subjects daily from May 1-7.
For Class X, the timings are 4:11 PM-6PM with three subjects daily from May 1-7.
Schedule for the remaining week will be notified subsequently, the notification informed.
