Nagaland Election: BJP’s Kazheto Kinimi first to win membership to 14th NLA

Kazheto Kinimi of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) became the first candidate to earn membership to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) as he was re-elected unopposed to the seat from 31 Akuluto Constituency.

In the 13th NLA, he was the Advisor to CAWD/NSDMA, Government of Nagaland.

Meanwhile, the BJP Nagaland State in an official update on Twitter informed that Kinimi had been “declared uncontested in the upcoming NLA Elections 2023” and congratulated him.
Kinimi also tweeted that he is “beyond humbled and honoured to represent the people of Akuluto 31 A/C for a second term, as unopposed.”

“I praise Almighty God for this privilege and extend my gratitude to my supporters, well-wishers, the karyakartas of Akuluto BJP mandal and Nagaland state BJP,” he added.

While N Khekashe Sumi of the Indian National Congress was the other contestant from constituency, he must have withdrawn his candidature on February 10, the last date of undertaking the exercise. 

Voting for 60-member assembly elections in Nagaland is scheduled on February 27.
