
Dimapur, April 11 (MExN): Team Nagaland created history by entering the final of the 6th All India M.P. Verma Invitation Unity Cup Cricket Cup 2017 being played at Patna. A half century from Hokaito and some neat spin bowling helped Nagaland register a comprehensive 93 run-victory over Manipur in the semifinal. Nagaland will take on Jharkhand XI in the final on April 12 in a day night match which start at 2:00 pm. Earlier, Team Nagaland electing to bat put on a score of 220 runs in 40 overs. Hokaito (75 runs) was assisted by Nagaho (38 runs) and Tahmeed Rahman (31). Manipur were then bowled out for just 127 runs in 31 overs. The Manipur team could not withstand the spin bowling of Team Nagaland and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. At one stage, Manipur was reduced to 56/6 before the tail-enders labored to a respectable total. For Nagaland, spinners Imliwati and Tahmeed returned with figures of 3/17 and 3/20 respectively.
