Lockdown measures have been extended till August 31 across Nagaland.  This was decided at the meeting of High Powered Committee (HPC) on COVID 19 here today.

The meeting thoroughly deliberated on the current COVID-19 situation in Nagaland and decided to continue with the ongoing lockdown measures till August 31. Nagaland's Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Neiba Kronu, who is also a government Spokesperson on COVID 19, said that new SOPs would be brought out.

Like earlier, decision on imposition of total lockdown depends on respective District Task Forces, he said. Schools and colleges will not to open during the lockdown.

It must be mentioned here that Nagaland Chief Secretary in an order issued on June 29 informed that all existing guidelines issued on May 4 with regard to the lockdown in all parts of the State would continue to remain operative till July 15. The order also stated that relaxations regarding opening of religious places/places of worship for public as issued on June 10 and the June 20 order regarding plying of local taxis and autorickshaws in the border sub divisions shall continue to remain operative in Nagaland till July 15.

The same measures were later extended till July 31 and the same would continue to operate as per the HPC meeting until new SOPs are issued.
