Nagaland facing huge shortage of docs, nurses & techs: Health Dept

DIMAPUR, JUNE 1 (MExN): The Department of Health and Family Welfare today said that as per Indian Public Health Standard (IPHS) norms, the State is already facing huge shortage of Doctors, Nurses and Technicians.

A press release from the Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare said this following a statement issued by the Shamator Town Public Forum (STPF) on issues of shortage of manpower and equipments in accordance to the IPHS requirement. The forum had given the department one month’s notice for remedial measures.

“The creation and upgradation of health centres over the years has created a huge shortage of manpower, infrastructure and equipments in the state. The department is in the process of rationalization of health units across the state,” the Health Department stated.

It urged all concerned to cooperate with the department “in order to address the issues for the benefit of all its citizens.”
