Zeliang clarifies on ‘Accord before Christmas’ report
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister clarified that he had never said or declared that the Framework Agreement/Accord would be signed before Christmas as was quoted by some new agencies. He termed the report as “fake.”
“I would like to clarify that, we are trying for a solution to the long pending Naga Political Issue. And our government desires and is hopeful for a solution before Christmas and also since the assembly election is scheduled next year, a solution before election is what we want. However, it is sad to learn that ‘Reporters’ misquoted on such sensitive issue and makes an attempt to confuse the general public,” Zeliang wrote on his official facebook page.
The Chief Minister has appealed to media persons to be more responsible and get the facts right before jumping into a conclusion and drafting misinformation.
