41st Batch Forest Guard Training course 2021 convocation held
Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): The convocation of the 41st Batch Forest Guard Training course 2021 was conducted at State Environment & Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI), Dimapur on November 12. On the occasion, 35 Forest Guard Trainees from 12 different Forest Divisions of Nagaland Forest Department passed out after undergoing six months training course.
A press release stated here that the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force, Nagaland Dharmendra Prakash graced the occasion as the chief guest. The Annual Academic Report 2021 of SEFTI was also released by the chief guest.
The Director, SEFTI M Shakiba Yimchunger, IFS in his message to the trainees said, “Instructions may end here in the Institute as you go out as trained Foresters but do remember that education ends only when life ends. Your time in the Institute has come to an end, whatever you have learned, if you have learned with pleasure, you will never forget. If you have forgotten what you have learned, don’t forget why you came to the institute.”
The chief guest in his interaction reminded the trainees that People’s involvement in conservation has increased therefore it is not only about protection and conservation but also about empowering local people through various externally aided programmes. He urged the passing out trainees to be aware of the developments happening in the forestry sector and create awareness about the various activities of the Forest Department. He also highlighted that Nagaland is the only State where the local people have set aside land for the sake of conservation known as Community Conservation Reserves.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks from Sosinle Magh, Faculty of SEFTI. The Programme was chaired by Obed Bohovi Swu, Deputy Director, SEFTI.
