Nagaland Government directs NU to postpone exams

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 12 (MExN): The Department of Higher and Technical Education has directed Nagaland University (NU) to postpone exams for university students in the State.

In a letter to the NU Vice Chancellor, Deputy Secretary to the Nagaland Government, Animi Lotha noted that majority of students who are going to appear odd semester exams are enrolled in colleges within Kohima & Dimapur and most have gone home to their respective districts, vacating their rented houses and hostels.

It noted that following COVID-19 SOP in such circumstances would be difficult. The department asked NU to conduct exams in January or February of 2021, since the UGC has changed its academic calendar from November 2020 –May 2021.
