Nagaland Government gets tech-savvy

IT &C Dept publishes report on social media, website, BAS of govt depts

DIMAPUR, JUNE 26 (MExN): The Department of Information Technology & Communication, Government of Nagaland has published a report on social media, website, biometric attendance system of different government departments as on June 25, 2018.  

A general awareness message issued by the CEO, NSeGS and Commissioner & Secretary, IT 7 C, KD Vizo said the department was given the following task as part of the PDA government 100 days programme-  

To assist various government departments in implementation of Aadhaar based Biometric Attendance System in all directorate offices, completion of creation of website for all government departments and migration of all government websites to Nagaland State Data Centre and completion of creation of social media accounts for all departments. Accordingly, officials from the Department of IT&C provided necessary technical assistance to various government departments for creation of website, social media (Facebook/Twitter) and implementation of Aadhaar based Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS).  

It stated that the details of the websites, social media account and AEBAS are being published to improve citizen engagement with the government departments.  

While lauding various departments for allowing the Department of IT&C to introduce the most basic form of e-Governance tools in the State, it also appealed to all citizens to start using the facilities being made available.  

In doing so, together we will be moving closer to fulfill the vision of the department “towards making the state of Nagaland the next IT hub of South East Asia,” the general awareness message stated.
