Kohima, July 30 (MExN): Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Sentiyanger Imchen, IAS, chaired a meeting of the Administrative Heads of Departments (AHoDs) and Heads of Departments (HoDs) at the Secretariat conference hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima on July 29.
During the meeting, Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, IAS, reviewed the preparations for the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations and updated the status of various departments work distribution and arrangements for the state level programme, stated a DIPR report.
Sinha noted that attendance at the Independence Day function has been low in recent years and urged all Administrative Heads of Departments and Heads of Departments to ensure compulsory attendance of their officers and staff. He informed that every department would be required to submit its attendance report after the programme.
Highlighting the Government’s plastic free and green office initiative, Sinha stressed the need for departments to avoid the use of single use plastic materials during official functions and office events. He called upon all departments to strictly adhere to the initiative and work collectively towards creating plastic free government offices.
Chief Secretary, Sentiyanger Imchen also urged all departments to formulate practical and implementable action plans to enforce the plastic-free initiative, beginning with the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, and encouraged departments to lead by example in promoting environmentally sustainable practices.
Finance Commissioner, Kesonyu Yhome, IAS highlighted on the State SMA balance account and reviewed the status of SASCI projects being implemented by various departments in Nagaland.
A presentation on the role and responsibilities of Secretaries, along with amendments to departmental service rules, was made by the Personnel & Administrative Reforms (P&AR) Department.
Principal Secretary & Development Commissioner, Y Kikheto Sema, IAS, urged all departments to complete activities under the State Plan in accordance with the prescribed Calendar of Action timeline to ensure timely implementation of government programmes. Secretary and Chairperson of the Comprehensive Manpower Rationalisation Committee, Akubu Meyase, IAS, also highlighted the concept and objectives of comprehensive manpower rationalisation, emphasising the importance of optimising human resources across government departments.
The meeting also deliberated on various other important matters, during which the members shared their views and suggestions on key issues and concerns requiring immediate attention.
