Nagaland: Governor Acharya extends Tsokum & Yemshe greetings

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 5 (MExN): Nagaland State Governor, PB Acharya today extended greetings to the Khiamniungan and Pochury communities on the occasion of Tsokum and Yemshe festivals which fall on October 5.

In a message addressed to both communities, the Governor reminded them to appreciate the farmers for their hard work who provide for us. He said that the Central and State Governments have welfare projects for farmers such as soil testing, Kisan credit card, National Food Security Mission etc to help in production and productivity.

“It should be our responsibility that these welfare projects are made known to them and motivate them to avail the services for their benefit,” the Governor stated.

Governor Acharya added the festivals should be a source for building unity and called on all to come together and make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and all round development in the State. He also encouraged the two communities to safeguard and promote their rich culture and traditions through their festivals.

“May the festivals of Tsokum and Yemshe bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Khiamniungan and Pochury communities in particular and Nagas in general,” the Governor wished.
