Governor La Ganesan graces the annual convocation Vellore Institute of Technology at Chennai on August 21.
Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): The annual Convocation of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and the inauguration of building at VIT campus in Chennai was held with the Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan as the chief guest on August 21. The Convocation was for UG, PG & Doctoral Programmes in Engineering, Technology, Science, Humanities, Management and Law, PRO Raj Bhavan, Kohima stated in a press release.
Addressing the occasion, the Governor said that it is a proud and exuberant moment for all the graduates, parents and teachers who paved the path all throughout to enable this historic day. “Graduation is a season for celebration in life as it concludes a phase of the learning curve and springs to another phase where you deploy what you have learnt. This new life phase teleports every student from the fun-filled campus and friendly environment to real-world of trials and tribulations,” he added. The chief guest said that the contemporary era we live in provides ample scope for entrepreneurship and innovation. He stated that the present growth curve of our country predicts the exponentially increasing opportunities for those who strive towards reaching the peak. He also said that this is the period when they can be the creator of a job and provide job to others.
The governor urged them that they should keep the spirit of hardwork and consistency to succeed in their lives and also learn to function as a team. He added that a good leader is someone who was once a hardworking team player and possessed the ability to become a resourceful entrepreneur.
The Governor handed over the degree certificates and VIT Chancellor Dr G Viswanathan distributed the medals during the event. The Governor also inaugurated two buildings in the campus namely Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Block and Swami Vivikananda Block in presence of the guest of honour Balu Chaturvedula, SVP & Country Head, Walmart Global Tech and other officials.
The welcome address was given by VIT Vice Chancellor, Rambabu Kodali . Others who took part in the programme included Pro-Vice Chancellor VS Kanchanan Bhaaskaran, Registrar VIT, and others. The Governor was accompanied by the Secretary to Governor, Nagaland, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS along with the Raj Bhavan, Kohima officers.
