
Kohima, January 4 (MExN): Nagaland Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi today extended led the State in extending greetings to Chakhesang community on the occasion of Thuni festival.
“Thuni is a thanksgiving festival for a bountiful harvest and good health. It is a festival promoting significant virtues such as equity, friendship, peace, purity and originality,” Mukhi stated a message.
“On this joyous occasion, may our Almighty God bless the people of Nagaland with a bountiful harvest, good health, peace and prosperity,” he added.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also took to Twitter to greet the community on the occasion.
“Warm greetings to those celebrating Thuni from the Chakhesang community. I wish you happiness, good health and prosperity for the year ahead. Best wishes for a happy and a safe Thuni,” he tweeted.
The Deputy CM and BLP leader Y Patton has greeted the community saying that it was a pleasant time to celebrate even as one welcome the New Year 2022 and called for giving thanks to the Almighty and praying for a prosperous year.
On behalf of the State BJP legislators, Patton also Thuni greetings and expressed hope that the celebrations would bring blessings in abundance.
