Kohima, May 1 (MExN):  The Governor of Nagaland RN Ravi today greeted and the people Nagaland in general the Aos in particular on the occasion of Moatsü, one of the premier festivals of the Ao Nagas.  In his message, Ravi said that though Moatsü provides the people a period of entertainment after the stressful field works, the Ao Senden has urged the community to observe the festival at home due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 


The Senden, the apex Ao organisation on April 30, has urged the community members to observe the festival with a prayer from their respective homes asking for blessings from the Almighty. In this connection, he lauded the Senden as well as other apex organisations and the people for being vigilant so far in all the recent festivals.


“He wished a very happy, meaningful and blessed Moatsü celebration as the people celebrate the festival at home with prayers,” a press release from PRO to Governor informed.


Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also sent his Moatsü greetings to Ao community on Friday. “I wish you all happiness and good health and pray that the Almighty's protection continue to be upon us so that we will be able to celebrate our rich cultural heritage, as a community, in the near future,” he tweeted. 


Y Patton: Nagaland Deputy CM, Y Patton also extended Moatsü greetings to the Ao community. A press release from the Deputy CM's media cell said that while the festival is being celebrated under different circumstances due to the ongoing COVID-19 this year,  it should not dampen the spirit of festivity and can be celebrated meaningfully at their respective homes by observing social distancing. He also appreciated the “wisdom of Ao Senden for asking its community members to refrain from celebrating the festival publicly.” Patton, on behalf of the state BJP legislators, meanwhile wished for peace, prosperity and goodwill to the people during this festival and in the days to come.

 

Following social distancing & guidelines most valiant act: Ravi  

Kohima, May 1 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland RN Ravi today said that in these difficult times, the most valiant act a person can do is to simply maintain ‘social distancing’ and adhere to the government guidelines. 
The Governor stated this while extending his Moatsü greetings to the people and lauding the lauded the apex organisations and the people of the state “being vigilant so far in all the recent festivals.”
“An important teaching by the older men to the young people during the festival is to be bold and heroic to defend and protect the community from enemies,” Ravi added in a press release from Raj Bhavan Kohima.
