Nagaland Governor emphasises on comprehensive student development

Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): The 32nd annual day function of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur was graced by the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan as the chief guest in the school auditorium on November 28.

In his address, the Governor highlighted the pivotal role of education in the nation's growth and prosperity, stated a DIPR report. The Governor emphasised the importance of comprehensive student development in both academic excellence and cultural understanding for a progressive society. 

He expressed his thrill at witnessing the performances and achievements showcased during the event and commended the hard work, dedication, and passion displayed by the students. He encouraged each student to embrace the opportunity to learn, grow, and showcase their talents, reminding them that the future rests in their capable hands. Further, the Governor urged everyone to celebrate the day with joy, appreciating shared heritage and leaving with a renewed sense of responsibility toward society and the nation.

St Mary’s HSS Principal, Dr Neena Dutta reflected on the journey of the school which “started as a small dream in 1991, with just 12 students and 3 teachers.” The school was inaugurated on January 20, 1991 and blessed by late Hokishe Sema and Dr SI Jamir. It affiliated under the CBSE Board since 2020. 

Dr Dutta also reported on the achievements of the school including 100% result in the CBSE Board exams for the academic years 2021-22 and 2022-23. She highlighted the school’s pioneering efforts in starting the first section for mentally challenged children, supported by trained and dedicated teachers. She attributed the success and reputation of the school to the dedication, hard work, and high qualifications of the teachers.
