Nagaland Governor welcomes agreement between GoI, NNPGs

Kohima, November 23 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya today welcomed the signing of agreement between the Government of India (GoI) and the Working Committee of the Six Naga Political Groups (NNPGs) on November 17 at New Delhi. Stating that the peace talks were heading in the right direction, Acharya expressed hope for an early settlement, informed a press release from PRO to Governor. Acharya said that a strong political under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will to bring an honourable solution to the Naga issue, it said. The Governor also lauded Prime Minister and Home Minister Rajnath Singh for their strong commitment to find a permanent solution to the over six-decades-old Naga issue, it added. Acharya further opined that once a permanent solution to the Naga issue comes into place it will spur development and progress which will create opportunities for employment and rapid development to be in tune with other developed states, the release said. The Governor also urged the youth who are now waiting for opportunities, to come back to Nagaland and make it a develop State, it added. “Only we can build our State and make it a golden Nagaland.”
