Nagaland Govt cautions on second COVID-19 wave

Advisory for DTFs to conduct random tests

Kohima, April 4 (MExN): The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW) Nagaland has issued an advisory for all District Task Forces (DTFs) to conduct random sampling and testing for screening of COVID-19 from time to time.

The advisory has been issued in view of the impending second wave of COVID-19 pandemic and to assess the trend of COVID- 19 transmission and prevalence in the community, the Directorate stated in its notification on April 3.

The testing for the risk groups will be free of cost and during the sampling for random screening tests, DTFs have been advised to compulsorily collect contact details of all close contacts such as co-travellers, customers present, patient attendants, inmates etc.

This is to ensure 25-30 such close contacts to be traced for each infected person. Tracing and isolation is to be done in 72 hours. Subsequent testing and follow up of all close contacts are also to be carried out as per the directive.
The random sampling and testing are to be conducted in specified high risk settings. (See table)
