
Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland has enhanced the rate of interest of GPF / CPF from 8% to 8.6% with effect from 01.12.2011 and 8.8% with effect from 01.04.2012 onwards to all government employees working under the State. This information was contained in a note received here today from an organization calling itself the Nagaland Finance & Accounts Service Association (NF&ASA).
The enhancement will not only benefit the 87,078 regular employees and private sector employees but will also “encourage them to contribute more in the provident fund,” the group said.
The association also requested the State government to explore the possibilities of releasing dearness allowance arrears which is overdue since 1st July, 2012. “Further, Government is requested to explore the possibilities of revising the deposit rate of Group Insurance Scheme, 1988 from existing rate of ` 80/-, ` 40/-, ` 20/- and ` 10/- including increase of insurance coverage on the event of death in harness,” the note added.
